How does Eden Photos actually work?
A very small thumbnail of each image is generated and sent to a secure server for processing. The server sends back tags and categories, and the results are stored locally on your computer. A reference is saved to your account for synchronization and to avoid using credits on the same image more than once.
Are my photos stored anywhere in the cloud?
No, not at all — we respect privacy. The app temporarily uploads a small thumbnail of each photo for recognition and analysis, and deletes it right after. Your original files never leave your machine.
Is this a one-time process? How will my new images be processed?
After the initial processing completes, Eden Photos keeps working in the background and periodically checks for new images in the folders you add for processing. Leave it running and your library stays indexed and categorized.
I already have tags on some of my images — will Eden Photos affect those?
No. Existing tags and keywords are added to your library of tags and remain visible inside Eden Photos. To exclude an image entirely, move it to a folder that is not synced to Eden Photos.
Can I organize my photos without a paid plan?
Yes. Manual tagging, bulk tag editing and custom albums are free. Paid plans add automatic tagging and categorization with AI.
What exactly am I paying for?
Eden Photos is subscription-based. The free Starter plan covers manual organization — tags, bulk editing and albums. Paid plans add AI auto-tagging and auto-categorization with a monthly image quota. You can cancel anytime; images that were already processed stay organized.
How long will it take for my images to be processed?
It depends on how many images you have, your internet connection and your machine. Only very small chunks of data are transferred, so it should finish quickly.
Do I need to be a pro to use this?
Not at all — Eden Photos was built to be super easy. Add the folders you want to organize, then browse and search by tags and categories. You can organize manually for free or use AI on a paid plan.
Is it ok if I buy 400 seats?
Yes, and it will send us over the moon :) But you'd better do it only if you have a photo agency with 400 employees who want their photos organized.
